Marketing Myth #1: Branding Has Nothing to Do With Your Website

Today I overheard a conversation and yes an artist made the statement that “branding has nothing to do with your website.”  Are you kidding me?  Is this guy really working in the advertising and marketing business?  Branding has everything to do with your website.  Why?

  1. Business is all about perception a lot of times your website is the first impression you make.
  2. Your company name, logo, and slogan should be present on everything that represents your company.
  3. An effective brand can give you an edge in increasingly competitive markets.
  4. Do you really want your website viewers to click away and NOT know who you are?
  5. A strong brand creates a memorable impression and confidence in your products and services.

The bottom line is your brand is derived from who you are, who you want to be and who people perceive you to be, can you really risk the lack of a brand on one of the most fundamental tools in your marketing strategy? I think not.   Please Mr. Artist keep drawing pretty pictures and leave the marketing to those that understand the importance of it.
