It’s true there are actually companies in Kansas that do Internet marketing. There are many more than there were when I started the interactive marketing path in 1997. You can now find companies that do affiliate marketing, search engine optimization, pay-per-click campaigns, web design and more. The talent pool has picked up, but most the time in order to get a seasoned professional within the field it takes relocation. You will find plenty of talent with about 1 to 2 years of experience, but to find someone with over 5 years is a rare find. What I have found interesting is that digging for talent has also put me in touch wih a few experts that live around the Kansas City metropolisis. Take for example Marty Fahncke, Craig Paddock, and long-time associate John Jantsch.
I’ve seen a lot of growth lately with the more traditional ad agencies adding internet marketing divisions and it’s no different within the Kansas City region either. We of course have the mega interactive agency VML in our backyard, but there has been growth within the interactive divisions of Bernstein-Rein, Barkley, and Gragg Advertising as well.
I’m beginning to actually feel as if Kansas City agencies have started to grasp and hold tight the importance of Internet marketing. We are finally moving forward in developing the talent to compete with the big dogs located elsewhere. These are exciting times for an Internet professional who has craved the company of those in the same industry. Perhaps it is time to start an Interactive Marketing Association within this midwest region or maybe there already is one and I’ve missed it?
Don’t forget about PlattForm Advertising. We have a huge interactive department and have been doing SEO for 6 years. We have also done affiliate marketing and PPC stuff for 4 to 5 years.
It’s nice to see things are picking up in KC overall though.
Yes I know that many companies related to internet marketing are there in Kansas from a long time. Even I know the importance of internet marketing that helped me a lot to be with many affiliates. I hope home based business is one of the better options to choose from internet marketing business.
This sounds like the expansion is on the way. The power of the Internet you’re probably more Powerful than you know. The latest encounters of business building online still have the old concepts but they’re doing more cover up and building off of the methods than moving ahead with new more stable online marketin concepts like you are.

Thanks for the shout-out, and for the nice words.
I’m a recent transplant to Kansas, but I’m loving it here so far.
Hope we can do some internet marketing work together, and show those outside the Land of Oz just how good the talent here in middle American can be!
