The truth is it’s different for each company. If a company is limited on budget and cannot afford to hire an experienced marketing professional it’s probably better to outsource rather than hire someone who is new to the industry. Why? I am a big advocate of hiring new talent. I think they can filter in fresh ideas and new perspectives, but if there is a not a senior level marketing professional to guide and gauge their marketing intiatives you could end up spending more than you bargained for.

Outsourcing has several benefits:

Top notch marketing talent at a reasonable price

Less expensive: Not required to pay employee benefits or other employment expenses

Expertise and knowledge

If you find that these benefits do not outweigh the salary of a marketing professional on staff full-time then it’s probably time to hire for an in-house position.
