Happy New Year! Ok, I’m a day late, but I promised myself that I would spend most of the first reflecting rather than working. This year I promise more blog posts, less talk about Starbucks (since giving it up is one of my New Years Resolutions) and more pictures of the cats.In 2006 I began a new job, moved into a new home, and put on a couple of pounds. (Don’t worry I’m devoted to the gym and I’ve started my meal supplement shakes so they’ll be gone within two weeks) I learned the importance of making each moment count and making sure that those you care about know that you appreciate them. I realized my son is growing into a young man right before my eyes, proof was in the fact that he could stay up later than I could on New Years Eve.In 2006 I realized that no matter how hard I try I will never be perfect. I will continue to make mistakes, say the wrong things, and make grammatical errors - but I will view them as opportunities to learn and grow rather than beat myself up with them on a continual basis. In 2006 I realized how many autopays I have on a monthly basis for services I don’t use. The waste of money was astronomical so on the 31st I cancelled all of them including my Sirius radio subscription. Most importantly I realized I can not be all to everyone, but I can be true to me and that is truly what matters. It is not telling people that you love them that is key, but it is the action you take towards those that you love that really matters. What did you learn in 2006 that you will use to change things 2007?
